History of the Thailand Chapter... Tom carried over nine sets of colours which were made in the Philippines and he was met at the airport by the soon-to-be Thai Dogs. In early 2000, MDMC Thailand reported that they were having problems with Hells Angels MC because of the red and white colour of our top rocker. It was explained to them that we had cleared this with HAMC in the States, but MDMC Thailand countered that the problems they were incurring were with European HAMC Chapters. They requested permission from MDMC Philippines to allow them to temporarily change the colour of their top rocker to black and white so they could approach HAMC in Europe and explain to them that our red and white top rocker does not conflict with HAMC Colours and that we are not in competition with them. Unexpectedly, Gareth quit MDMC Thailand for personal reasons then one of the other high profile Members of MDMC Thailand left the Club and started the Thailand chapter of Gremium MC (Black Seven). At that point, the remaining MDMC Thailand Members were requested to revert to the red and white top rocker, but they wanted to retain the black and white. Thailand members never once attended any International meeting or event and refused to comply with basic club rules. After years of discussions, MDMC International (Philippines, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong voted to abandon efforts to get the Thailand Chapter back on board and notified MDMC Thailand that they were no longer considered a part of MDMC International as of March 10, 2003. Despite that, the “black and white top rocker” Thailand Dogs refused to accept that they were no longer a part of MDMC International and continued to wear MDMC Colours albeit with the black and white top rocker. One of the MDMC Thailand Members joined in 2003 and was a former Hells Angel MC Member, Tim Wood. While he thought he joined an International MC, he was surprised to see a notice on the MDMC International website stating that we no longer recognised the Thailand Chapter. This challenged him, and he took it on himself to bring the Chapter back to the fold. To learn more of what was going on, he accompanied Tom=2= on a trip to the Philippines. What he saw convinced him that his instincts were right and he returned to Thailand a few days later wearing a red and white top rocker and tattoo number =144=. MDMC Thailand was back. Another Member of the black and white top rocker Dogs, John Williams =161=, turned in his black and white top rocker for red and white, as well as Steve Francis =171= who was a Prospect with the black and white top rocker Dogs. These three Dogs along with Tom =2= formed a strong base for MDMC Thailand. |
